"NAME THE TEAM" CONTEST

Yup! That's right folks! Another contest for the VFLL to start the 2024 Victoria Field Lacrosse League season.

"If you build it, they will come!" Well that phrase from a pretty popular 1989 movie starring Kevin Costner was the idea for the Victoria Field Lacrosse League. Last season, the VFLL welcomed 106 field lacrosse players ranging in ages from 17 to 63 and the executive and membership thought that was outstanding!

Skip ahead 6 months and the league has grown even larger. We have some players taking the year off for various reasons but that's okay; we'll welcome them back next season. We've become quite popular over the summer and now the VFLL has grown to over 130 players. So large that our initial endeavour of expanding by 1 team to 5 just wasn't enough. That's why with a vote of team captains, the VFLL will again expand and announce a 6th team will be joining the league just 12 days before the VFLL draft.

So, here is where you come in! The teams' base colour will be Carolina Blue. You, the VFLL enthusiast will get your chance to "Name the Team!" Send an email to victoriafieldlacrosseleague@gmail.com with "CONTEST" in the subject line. In the body of your email, provide us with your nickname (i.e.: Sparrows, Titans, Beavers) for the 6th team to enter the VFLL. If you wish to submit a rendering of a logo, by all means, feel free. *Please be PG13 with your submissions.

The "Name the Team" contest will close on Wednesday September 20th, 2023 @ 11:59pm. The winning submission will win the following.

• 5 season tickets to VFLL games for the 2024 season
• A toque with the new teams' logo (when created)
• A $25.00 Gift Card from Tim Horton's
• A $50.00 Gift Certificate from Uncle Willy's (expired!)

The winning "team name" submission will be announced "live" at the beginning of the 2024 VFLL Draft on Sunday September 24th at 12pm (NOON). Zoom Draft Link
