The 2024 Victoria Field Lacrosse League draft will take place on Sunday September 24th at high noon (12:00pm) from the comfort of your own homes via Zoom. Here is the link to the draft (Draft Zoom Link).
The order of the draft will be the expansion Team Blue with the 1st pick in each round with the exception of the 1st round. Then the Turf Monsters with the 2nd pick, followed by the Phantom with the 3rd pick, the Goal Diggers with the 4th pick, the Plugs with the 5th pick and finally the defending league champion Knights with the 6th pick in each round. Any changes to the draft order will be a result of teams making trades leading up to and during the draft. We will have unlimited rounds until each returning player and new player is selected in the draft.
Each team will have 60 seconds to choose their picks in each of the first, second and third rounds. From the fourth round on, each team will be allowed 90 seconds to choose their picks. Each team is allowed two (2) 60 second extensions. If time runs out during their pick, or their extension or they ask for a third extension, their pick will be forfeited.

Any player not confirming his return to the league from last season or new player not registering/signing up before the September 13th (12:00pm deadline) will be ineligible for the draft. If said players wish to join the league after the draft, they may do so but with the following caveat.
- New or returning players joining after the draft must first complete a registration card in full and sign
- New or returning players must submit their registration fee via e-transfer to victoriafieldlacrosseleague@gmail.com
- New or returning players will be placed on a team based on the skill or luck of the player wishing to join the league (the player will have a part in where they are placed!)
- The team the player is placed on will hold his playing rights from that point forward. If the player "holds out", that is their choice until such time as he wishes to return to that team and play or... the team he is on makes a trade with another team in the VFLL for his playing rights.
- If said player "holds out", he will be placed on "league suspension" until he returns. His registration fee remains with the league.
- If a team selects a player who is not properly registered and not on the draft list, shall not be permitted to draft that player and the team forfeits that pick. The next team in the draft will get to select the next player.
- All players confirmed registered and/or paid will be in the draft and teams will select their respective picks until all players are chosen from the draft list.
*ANY PLAYER CURRENTLY IN POSSESSION OF THEIR TEAM PINNIE FROM THE 2023 SEASON WHO IS NOT CURRENTLY PROTECTED MUST RETURN IT TO THE LEAGUE ASAP. IF NOT RETURNED, YOU WILL BE PLACED ON LEAGUE SUSPENSION AND THE TEAM WILL USE ALTERNATE JERSEYS UNTIL ALL ARE RETURNED.
